This may be a dumb question, but I'm going to ask it anyway for clarification. What's the purpose of that alt plus 1 and alt plus 2 thing? I'm just curious as that doesn't seem to work for me. It sounds too much like twitter. Lol! Or facebook or whatever, and I guess those keystrokes don't work for me on those sites either. So just wondering what the purpose is for those? And how you get them to work?

From what I read in qn history, apparently someone asked for it and it was a 2 second job so jj implemented it.

The reason for it should be that when you hit that keystroke, it should take you to that point on the page reguardless of where you are.

These shortcuts work differently deppending if you use internet explorer or firefox.
With internet explorer you press alt+1 for example and then you have to press enter to activate the link.
With fire fox as soon as you press a shortcut it is automatically activated.
I think they are usefull if you want to go to the homepage, find the quicknote box, logout etc. It is a very quick way of doing these tasks.
